9:10-10:10“To err is human, but to really foul things up requires a computer.” The Digital Age of Social Media – Presented by Julian Bray—Division Chief for Social and Health Services Division of the Attorney General’s Office

This presentation covers ethics in the digital age of social media. The presenter will use timely examples of social media ethics errors made by attorneys with alarming frequency.

10:20-11:20“The Life of a Criminal Case: Choose Your Own Ethical Adventure” Part 1– Presented by Thurston County Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jeff Lippert and Thurston County Public Defender Kevin Griffin 

A scenario-driven review of common ethical pitfalls faced by prosecutors and defense attorneys during the life of a criminal case. A prosecutor and a defense attorney will review the relevant RPCs and apply them to fact patterns that illustrate how ethical dilemmas present in their respective practices.
